Respond! is Ireland's largest housing association with more than 4000 homes nationwide. For a quarter of a century, Respond! has dedicated its work to combating disadvantage, poverty and social exclusion.
Since its establishment in 1982, Respond! has gained 25 years of experience in community development, housing provision, estate management, education and training. Respond! has developed by influencing social change in providing social and affordabable accommodation for people in need. Respond! has a reputation for delivering high quality education adn training courses relating to current issues in community development and in particular social housing.
Since 1982, through Education and Consultancy, Respond! has pioneered Housing and Community training courses from which they have instituted practices that are now considered standard in social housing provision in Ireland.
Respond! is the only agent in Ireland delivering training and education courses for the Chartered Institute of Housing, an organisation well established in Housing and Community Development training.
Respond! trainig courses are delivered by a panel of lecturers from Respond! Team and UCD Staff augmented by a multidisciplinary panel of guest speakers and practitioners from University College Dublin (UCD), Trinity College Dublin (TCD), Dublin City University (DCU), Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Local Government and other key note speakers in the area.
Respond! has also joined in partnership with University College Dublin (UCD) to deliver a Bachelor of Social Studies in Housing and Community Studies which develops progressively from certificate (year 1) to diploma (year 2) to a BSS Degree (year 4).
In the past Respond! have delivered training courses to Local Authority and Local Government officials, elected representatives, other Housing Association Staff and Board members, HSE Staff etc.
