Centre for Co-operative Studies, University College Cork
The Centre for Co-operative Studies, University College Cork, offers distance learning programmes in co-operative & social enterprise.
The Centre for Co-operative Studies is a university research centre that promotes education and training along with independent research and consultancy in all aspects of co-operative organisation and development. All of the Centre's activities are focused on helping people identify their own problems and meet their own needs through co-operative action. Recently, this has meant:

- Exploring newly emerging social enterprises. The Centre is a founding member of the EMES Network, a research network of university research centres with a specific interest in "Third Sector" issues.
- Exploring the development, potential and structures of farmers' markets in Ireland. - Examining the legislative framework for co-operatives in Ireland.
The Centre for Co-operative Studies is a university research centre based in University College Cork (UCC). UCC is a constituent member of the National University of Ireland (NUI). All our distance learning prgrammes are fully accredited university programmes.
Our programmes have attracted both staff and volunteers from a broad range of organisations including family resource centres, social economy initiatives, community co-operatives, local authorities, FAS, credit unions, local development companies and organisations that cater for people with intellectual disabilities
