We provide training for practitioners working with families with the aim of increasing your team’s effectiveness when supporting families, especially those under stress or experiencing relationship difficulties. The training equips workers with additional knowledge and a brief intervention model for use in your work supporting families. Our training is evidence-based, evaluated and accredited by IASW, An Bord Altranais and ICGP. Upcoming courses include:

Brief Encounters® Tutor Training - Qualify as an Associate Trainer and deliver Brief Encounters® within your organisation, planned for May 2012. Please contact us for further information.
Participants are required to complete the 3 day Brief Encounters® Training first and can then apply for this course. Candidates will be short-listed from the applications as places are limited.
We can also set up 1 Day Courses on Brief Encounter® Training throughout Ireland.
My Mum and Dad argue a lot - 1 Day Training
This training can be tailored for your organisation and 2011 dates are available on request. My Mum and Dad Argue a Lot (MMAD) equips Family Support Workers & Educators to respond to the needs of parents and families living with conflict. It looks at conflict patterns and offers key messages from research on how outcomes for families and children can be improved.

The aim of our work in Ag Eisteacht is to highlight opportunities for early intervention in the area of family relationships, focusing on times of transition e.g. becoming a couple, childbirth, becoming parents, to mention a few of the well documented stress points in the family life-cycle. Recent research and policy developments acknowledge the important links between the quality of parents' relationships, child outcomes and the "need for an integrated whole-family approach for practitioners working across a range of disciplines".
Ag Eisteacht was founded by Maeve Hurley and Kathy Jones in 2001. Ag Eisteacht is affiliated to the UK Charity One Plus One.
