Acquired Brain Injury Ireland provides a range of pioneering services to people with acquired brain injury. Brain Aware is a Training Programme for family members Caring for and Supporting someone with an acquired brain injury.
Acquired Brain Injury Ireland has developed specialised ABI services throughout Ireland including Assisted Living, Community Rehabilitation Services, Rehabilitation Support Team, Case Management, Clinical Support, Awareness & Education Programmes. The overall aim of the Brain Aware Training Programme is to develop the Carer's skills and knowledge of ABI and enable them to respond more appropriately to their family member's needs.
The training programme is facilitated by ABI staff and external trainers who are specialists in their fields. These include qualified registered nurses, social workers, counselling psychologists, occupational therapists, speech & language therapists and clinical psychologists.
