Introduction to Social Media for Charities

This workshop will provide you with examples of best (and worst) practices in the community and voluntary sector when it comes to using social media.

Participants will learn how Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat and other social networks can be used to promote your work and build your organisation's support base. Taking account of the latest developments in this ever-changing digital landscape, Greg will guide you to the most effective ways for nonprofits to engage with these online tools.

Greg Fry

Greg is a trainer with socialmedia.ie delivering regular LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Social Business Strategy training and workshops for institutions such as the Digital Marketing Institute, Sure Skills and the Digital Skills Academy. He has a marketing degree and 10 years commercial experience.

Alongside training Greg works as a Social Business and Content Consultant. He believes that in order to make social media work for your business you must have a clear business goal, a clearly defined strategy, great content and make sure that everything you do is measurable. Greg has also won awards for his blogging whilst contributing to the tweakyourbiz.com community.

Anyone working in a community and voluntary organisation who deals with communications, frontline staff, managers, or anyone interested in learning more about the possibilities of using the internet to further their mission.

This workshop is a good introduction to social media, or a refresher for anyone who has attended one of The Wheel's previous social media workshops.
