Course details:

This day-long intensive media training workshop aims to provide participants with the skills and know-how to deal confidently with the media when the spotlight falls on you and your organisation.

This workshop explains the media in Ireland in all its facets and how it works. It looks at different types of media interview situations, from one-to-one interviews and panel discussions on talk programmes, to sound bites for news programmes. Participants learn how to prepare for interviews in getting their messages across and also receive lots of tips on dealing with presenters, challenging questions, being in front of the camera and coping with nerves.

Very much hands-on, participants get to see and hear examples of real-life good and bad media interviews and have the opportunity to undertake simulated interview situations in front of the camera on their chosen topic.

Note: there are only 3 places available in total for this workshop - so immediate booking is advised.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the workshop, you will:

  • Understand how to communicate messages you want to get across, deliver your call to action and have the audience understand your point of view.
  • Have practical hands-on experience of simulated interviews on topics relevant to your brief, as they would happen in the real world.
  • Have experience of what questions to expect and how to deal with the tough ones.
  • Be prepared and self-assured so that when the media does come calling, you put your best foot forward.
