Fire Safety Procedures for Nursing Homes and Care Centre
This course trains participants to deal with fire on an emergency basis It is specifically designed for nursing homes and care centres. It emphasises the dangers of fire, the importance of prevention, and the necessity of urgent action when fire breaks out and the importance of progressive horizontal evacuation. The course is conducted in accordance with the Fire Safety in Nursing Homes (Dept of Environment) and Health Technical Memorandum 05.01 Managing Healthcare Fire Safety (UK). An important feature of the course is the practical use of the live fire demo unit, which allows the instructor to demonstrate most fire sources and the participants to use fire extinguishers, including many specific fire hazards within the workplace.
