Fire Safety Managers for Nursing Homes and Care Centres
This course is designed for those with overall responsibility for Fire Safety within the nursing home/care centre the (Managers, Director of Nursing or Clinical Nurse Managers). It is specifically designed for nursing homes and care centres and will give them the tools to put in place a fire safety programme and monitor it. The course is conducted in accordance with the Fire Safety in Nursing Homes (Dept of Environment) and Health Technical Memorandum 05.01 Managing Healthcare Fire Safety (UK). An important feature of the course is the practical use of the live fire demo unit, which allows the instructor to demonstrate most fire sources and the participants to use fire extinguishers, including many specific fire hazards in the workplace.

All appointed fire safety managers and those who wish to train as such. The Fire Services Act 1981and Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 imposes responsibilities on the owner, managers and the person having control of premises to guard against fire and ensure fire safety within a place of work.
