Session 1 – Major Gift Prospects with Niall O’Sullivan, Campaign Solutions

This first session will examine:
  • Philanthropy in Ireland – the context
  • Understanding Prospect Research
  • Sources and Processes
  • Issues around Data Protection.

Session 2 – Donor Care and Communications Clinic with Colin Skehan, Merchant’s Quay Ireland

This session will give you a grounding in how to improve the most important metric in fundraising: donor retention – through superior donor care and communications.

Meet Your Facilitators - Niall O'Sullivan & Colin Skehan

Niall O’Sullivan has been working in fundraising and philanthropy since 1999. In this time he has worked for an NGO, consultancy and university and was with The Community Foundation for Ireland for five years before establishing his own business.
He returned to The Community Foundation on a part-time basis in 2016 and remains passionate about the potential to grow philanthropy in Ireland. Niall is married with two kids and in his spare time cycles and swims – he has been a regular Liffey Swim participant over the last decade and more.
Colin Skehan is an experienced development manager, copywriter and lecturer in fundraising. Most recently, building on the substantial legacy of previous head of Fundraising Denisa Casement, Colin has led the team to remarkable growth as interim Head at Merchants Quay Ireland. MQI are known for world-leading donor communications, donor care and retention and Colin will share some of the thinking – and the nuts and bolts - behind their success.
