would be implemented ensuring community participation and this would be the innovation and empowerment of women would be the best practices of the project. A Community based organization namely project management committee would be formed in each of the target village and this body is the focal point for all the project activities. Project Management committee or village development committee (VDC) is a concept, an approach and a social message which emphasizes that when people come together and worked together jointly for a common cause, they can explore new avenues for success in keeping up a sustainable livelihood. For each project management committee, a bank account will be opened, the signatories being the Secretary and Treasurer of the committee. All the project funds would be routed through this account and the withdrawn money would be spent for the implementation of the project activities. Thus a sense of ownership will be created among the rural masses to act with more responsibility and dignity. The partner organizations would provide technical support to the committees and will also do monitoring. The project would be jointly implemented and monitored by the two partner organizations namely Centre for Promotion of Equal Rights (Lead Partner) and VAAN Foundation. By implementing this project, a long term sustainability in the development of the rural masses by uplifting their economic and social status, would be ensured. Even after the project period, the Project Management Committees would do periodical need assessment and can implement the activities through a corpus fund which would be created out of the project benefits and by subscription from the farmer members. A 10% community contribution will be collected for all the activities. This would create a sense of ownership and responsibility among the beneficiaries. After the completion of the project, the partner organizations would reposition themselves from a resource support organization to a technical support organization. This aims at allowing and approving the community to stand and function on its own for all its development activities. Our interventions would empower the male and female farmers and the communities who seek to build their future on the basis of their own knowledge, skills, values and cultures. Our participatory methodologies would strengthen the capacity of farmers and other actors, to improve agriculture and adapt it to changing needs and conditions, to adopt better livelihood practices and to stand as a strong resilient community.
