Overview

 Creating and maintaining organisations wealth is a fundamental consideration in today's complex and fast-paced climate. This  module  is  for  those  who  recognise  the  benefits of  understanding  how  the  financial  side  of  organisations   operates .    An  awareness of  the  financial impact  of  one’s  actions   and  the  actions  of  the  team  is  critical .  Participants  will  appreciate  the  need  to  achieve  targets  and  budgets  &  how  to  forecast  future  demands  and  service  levels

Accounting is sometimes described as the language of business. To be effective, managers need to be financially literate. They do not need to be experts, but need to be able to interpret figures and understand what lies behind them. The fundamentals of finance can readily be grasped in 3 days, by which time managers will be equipped to perform their own jobs better, communicate better with their accountants and contribute better to the management team.

The course will improve the participants  ability to develop business plans, manage budgets, understand the financial implications of day-to-day decisions.

  • To provide participants with a clear understanding of finance, how it affects the day-to-day operations of an organisation and its importance in the planning and decision-making processes.
  • The programme is designed to provide the learner with understanding, knowledge and practical skills required to understand the basics of finance and how money works.
  • To provide managers and decision-makers who do not possess a strong grounding in finance an understanding of their company’s financial paradigm. 
  • Participants will gain a detailed understanding of critical financial fundamentals and will as a result be able to communicate with financial practitioners with more confidence. 
  • Take  a  practical  , pragmatic  view  point  on money  matters and  translate  the  jargon  ,  conventions  and  formats  of  accounting  so  that  they  become  useful  tools  in  every  day  language.
