ITEC Diploma in Holistic Massage, Anatomy & Physiology

Holistic Massage will include: -

·         Full body massage, neck and shoulder massage, and hands, feet, head and face massage.

·         Energy techniques and awareness

·         Contraindications to massage, history of massage, physical and psychological effects and benefits of massage, referral procedures, the holistic concept and an introduction to alternative therapies.

  • Emphasis is placed on the Holistic approach
  • Massage is so much more than simply easing tense muscles.It benefits clients' physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health and has the power to bring very positive changes in their lives. Understanding the mind/body/spirit connection is an important part of the course and practical healing techniques will be taught.
  • Client care and consultation skills will be taught to a high standard to ensure an excellent treatment for all clients, instil confidence in the therapist and give a professional image thereby encouraging referrals and helping to build a successful business or career.

 

Anatomy & Physiology will cover all the systems of the body including the Skeletal, Muscular, Circulatory, Lymphatic, Neurological, Endocrine, Digestive, Respiratory and Urinary Systems and the Skin.

 

Business & Ethics will include practical, legal and financial aspects in setting up and running a business. Practical and proven business building methods will be taught to help students who wish to set up their own practice

 

Class numbers are strictly limited to ensure that the needs of all students are met, that each receives individual attention and that the learning experience is enjoyable.

 

Prerequisites

 

The course is available for beginners as well as qualified therapists and the modules may be taken together or separately.

 

Times And Dates:

 

The course will commence on Tuesday 10th April 2012 and continue until September 10th 2012. Exams will be held in September.

 

Holistic Massage will be held on Thursday evenings from 7.15pm to 10.15pm

 

Anatomy & Physiology will be held on Tuesday evenings from 7.15pm to 10.15pm

 

Business and Professional Ethics will be held on two Saturday 15th October and Sunday 10th June 2012 from 10.30am to 4pm

There will be no class during the first tow weeks in August.

 

Exams & Qualification

 

At the end of the course students will take theoretical exams in Holistic Massage, Anatomy & Physiology and Business & Ethics and a practical exam in Holistic Massage. 20 case studies (5 clients each to be massaged 4 times) must also be completed.
