2 Day Post Graduate Training Workshop


With specialists in Cancer Care and Complementary Therapies focusing on:



  • the physcial care of the person with cancer

  • the emotional care and the psychological care of the person with cancer and their families

  • the psychosocial impact of having a diagnosis of cancer on the person and on their relationships.

Recommended adaptations


The aim of the weekend is to give therapists a good knowledge of the foundations of working with people diagnosed with or recovering from cancer.


The workshop will cover an overview of cancer and the treatments available. It will give practical guidelines on assessment of the person suffering with cancer, have an emphasis on safe practice, explore the scope of practice, and discuss the role of the professional, liason with medical practitioners and other issues.


Participants of the course will have an opportunity to practice adapted massage techniques on each other, to examine case scenarios, focusing on areas on self-care and mindful practice.


Therapists will also have access to information about resources for people with cancer, as well as further reading and studying.
