The National Day of Volunteering

Description: As a Volunteer Centres Ireland initiative, the National Day of
Volunteering is that one day of the year when everyone in Ireland is
encouraged to give volunteering a go, to show that - even for a minute, an
hour, a day - volunteering can make a big difference and be a lot of fun.

This year, we are going to double participation and really make a difference to communities all across Ireland.

Now in its fourth year, the National Day of Volunteering 2010 will take place on Friday, 1st October, and promises to be bigger than ever, building on the success of last year when more than 4,000 people got involved, volunteering in more than 170 projects across the 26 counties.

This year, we are going to double participation and really make a difference to communities all across Ireland.  The National Day of Volunteering belongs to everyone, no matter who you are or where you live.  Whether it's painting a community hall, giving blood, coaching a local sports team, or committing a random act of volunteering, everyone has something to offer.  Volunteering benefits everyone and makes us stronger.
