Media Associates was set up by Brian Pelan, a journalist with experience in national and regional newspapers as a sub-editor/designer and features writer.
This course is held in Dublin City fm radio studios, and gives participants an opportunity to practice news reading and/or continuity announcing, to learn about creating vox-pop packages for radio, and to research and conduct a live in-studio interview. Participants receive a demo disc on completion of the course. The course is held several times throughout the year. Check the website for details of the next course.

Taught at UCC and by colleges throughout the country, the Academy's Certificate in News Journalism course is for someone who wants to understand what journalism is all about, or wants to write for the parish bulletin or newsletter, or contribute occasional feature articles to media,or work as a freelance journalist.
