depression support, information and education services. Volunteers needed
nationwide.

Aware Harbour2Harbour Walk

Aware's annual St Patrick's Day walk from Dun Laoghaire Harbour
to Howth Harbour OR Howth to Dun Laoghaire. Do something good for yourself
and raise vital funds for the organisation too. 16.2 mile route around scenic
Dublin Bay. Starts @ 10am.

Blazing Motorbikers' Trip to Scotland

Spend three nights in scenic Scotland with the Blazing Motorbikers over the
2012 May Bank Holiday Weekend to raise funds for NCBI and Irish Guide Dogs
for the Blind.

The group will depart Belfast on Friday 4th May. We will be based in Fort
William for two nights and Glasgow for one night, arriving back to Belfast on
Monday afternoon.

The cost is €550 for bikers and €350 for pillions, which includes return
ferry trip, three nights hotel accomodation with breakfast and dinner.

Proceeds raised will benefit NCBI and Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Blazing Saddles – Mizen to Malin Head Cycle

Description: Are you up for a cycling challenge? Over one week cycle from the
most southerly tip of Ireland to its most northerly in aid of NCBI covering a
total distance of 650km. A cycling event not to be missed.

Holmpatrick Cup 2012

The Holmpatrick Cup can be organised as either a dedicated fourball
competition or run in conjunction with an existing club competition. The
funds raised in this competition go toward funding the services we provide to
over 16,500 people living with sight loss all over Ireland.

For only €5 per person you could compete for a chance to play at the home
of golf, St. Andrews in October this year.

Blazing Saddles – 4 City Cycle Challenge

4 cities, 400km, 4 days...last year the inaugural 4 City
Challange brought us to 4 cities from Dublin to Cork. This year, we will
travel the route in reverse, starting in Cork and ending in Dublin. Sign up
to this exciting cycle challenge today.

The Race to St. Andrews - Holmpatrick Cup 2012

We will again be running the Holmpatrick Cup in 2012 and hope that your club
will enter this event in the 80th year of this oldest of golf competitions.

The 2012 competition will have the same format as last year. The first step
is to enter your club, which can be done by completing the attached entry
form. I am very conscious of the demands on your club’s golf calendar so
you can either organise a special competition or run it in conjunction with
an existing club fourball competition.  The competition must be completed by
30th June 2012.

Format:
•       Club winners go forward to their county final – completed by 31st July
•       County winners compete for provincial honours – completed by 28th
September
•       The four provincial qualifiers then compete for the Holmpatrick Cup in
the All Ireland Final 36 hole on the New and Old courses at St Andrews in
October 2012.

I’m sure you will be pleased to hear that the entry fee per person will
remain at €5.00.  The All Ireland Final will include:
       * 2 Night/3 Day All Expenses Paid Trip of a Life Time to St. Andrews
       * 2 rounds of golf (Old & New Course)
       * Staying at the world famous Old Course Hotel

NCBI is a National Charity with Community Based staff in every county
throughout Ireland we are committed to meeting the needs of people with sight
loss in your local area.

As recognition of the work the Competition Secretary perform for your club
throughout the year and in particular their valued contribution in making the
Holmpatrick Cup the success it is, we will once again hold a draw were each
Competition Secretary (who runs a club qualifier), will be entered into the
hat to win a fantastic all expenses paid trip to The Final in St. Andrews in
October 2012. We will pick 4 Competition Secretary (one from each province).

Computer training for the unemployed

Computer training for the unemployed starting Tuesday 17th January and Wednesday 18th January 2012. This training consists of 10 hours training, 2 hours per session over 5 weeks. It will take place in our premises in Base enterprise centre, Mulhuddart, Dublin 15 each week from 2pm to 4pm. The training will include: setting up, sending and receiving emails, searching the internet, digital photography and social media, ie; Facebook, Skype, Twitter.
