Pathways to Work seminar

Thursday 5th July in Chartered Accountants House in Dublin.

In 2012 the government published its policy statement on labour market activation - Pathways to Work.  This will transform the nature and level of engagement between employment services and the unemployed.  This seminar will focus on the key issues around the delivery of such a programme and look at other issues including social inclusion, the unemployment crisis and reforming the welfare system.

In order to cover costs, there is a charge for private sector companies to attend the event.   However, in order to maximise inclusion, we would like to offer complimentary spaces to charities and other voluntary/community groups.

This course is designed to support and provide training for those in leadership or who work with group dynamics. Lughnasa Festival

Celebrate the Lughnasa Festival and join us for a wonderful evening walk in the heart of the Glendalough Valley. Starting the walk at 7pm (meet an hour before at the Glendalough Hotel for registration), there will be plenty of light to guide us on our way. We can then enjoy watching the sunset from the summit before we make our descent back down under the light of the full moon.

After the walk, come and join us for a well deserved post hike BBQ reception, with live music in the Glendalough Hotel. This is a fantastic way to celebrate the festival, get some exercise, take in some spectacular views and raise money for a great cause.

This is a moderate hike, suitable for beginners as well as experienced hikers. Registration costs €25 and the fundraising target is €125. Spaces are limited, so to sign up, please contact Threshold's Community Fundraising Executive on             01 635 3618      , e-mail: grainne.omalley@threshold.ie or send Threshold a message via Facebook or Twitter.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Threshold Flag Day 2012

Threshold's inagural Flag Day will take place on Friday October 12th 2012 across Dublin, Cork, Galway and Kerry. We will have teams out on street and in supermarkets and shopping centres collecting funds for Threshold.

Threshold is a national housing charity. We provide housing advice to help solve housing problems and prevent homelessness to anyone who needs our help nationwide. We provide a free confidential telephone and face to face appointment service. We help people who live in social housing, emergency accommodation and who are homeless.

We take on average, 20,000 emergency calls annually. That is equivalent to every person in Swords having a housing crisis that could make them homeless. We have over 30 years experience of helping to solve housing problems and preventing homelessness.

We are hoping that our October 12th Flag Day will be one of our biggest fundraisers of the year.
