Question

Need help to create a budget/forecast for a charity, not sure where to start

Dear colleagues,

I have taken on the responsibility of creating a budget and forecast for the Ireland office only in 2013. I've been given instructions on how it may be done, but I'm not sure that that's the best way to go about it.

What I'm hoping to find is other professionals in charge of budgeting and forecasting in the charity sector to share their expertise and simplified step by step instructions on how to go about it.

Warm regards,

Angelica I.K

Hi Sandra. Thanks a million

Hi Sandra. Thanks a million for your input. I had a look at the articles - an interesting read indeed!

I've also had a look at some of the articles posted on this website which were very helpful, the Wheel even had an Excel budget template.

So, what's left is to find out how to get the numbers ie when I look at the numbers for this year how do I turn them into budget/forecast figures for 2013?

Many thanks in advance!

Angelica, I think that you

Angelica,

I think that you may have found your own way to the "Money Counts" advice sheet with associated templates for how to set up management accounts for a charity. Note that all of the advice that you need is in the actual Advice Sheet which is a word document. The excel spread sheets are to be used in conjunction with the advice note. If you've any questions after that, feel free to contact us directly. The best person to respond to your questions here would be Elizabeth Bolger who can be contacted at: elizabethATwheel.ie

The link is: http://www.wheel.ie/recession-toolkit

And the two resources are the word and excel documents called "Money Counts".

All the best,

Deirdre
