Women’s Emotional Wellbeing Conference focusing on the challenges surrounding pregnancy and childbirth

Nurture charity is organising an Emotional Wellbeing Education Conference focusing on the challenges surrounding pregnancy and childbirth on Saturday 10th May 2014 in the Gresham Hotel, Dublin. This conference aims to be educational to help raise awareness about the 40,000 women in Ireland diagnosed each year with a mental health illness and emotional trauma surrounding pregnancy and childbirth like postnatal depression and give a greater understanding to those who may experience or work in this particular area of women’s psychological and emotional wellbeing.

This conference is open to women, men, family members, students, counsellors, public health nurses, midwives, GP’s, organisations, and other professionals or interested parties and includes CPD certification.

Key speakers include Irene Lowry CEO Nurture & Humanistic Counsellor, Dr. Barbara Coughlan & Dr. Ann Sheridan both Lecturers from School of Nursing, Midwifery & Health Systems in UCD, Siobhan Boucher, Fertility Coach, Elsa Jones, Nutritionist & Dr. Patricia Leahy-Warren, Senior Lecturer UCC School of Nursing and Midwifery

Topics covered at the conference include Nurture’s work  “Let’s talk about it” counselling & support groups, WRAP programme - how we can all stay emotionally healthy, Boost mood & mental clarity, Healthy nutrition to manage your weight, Living with loss, Post natal depression risk factors and treatment & Trying to have a baby.
