Social Enterprise and Innovation
A new business sector is emerging with the primary purpose of tackling the social, economic and environmental challenges of our time. The growth of 'social enterprise' has the potential to be a defining innovation of this century.
On 11 November some of Dublin’s leading Social Enterprises will come together in an inspiring event to highlight the work being done to empower underserved groups and communities by providing employment, training, essential services and supports.
The keynote speaker will be Gerry Higgins, Chief Executive of CEiS (Community Enterprise in Scotland), who advised the UK Department of Trade and Industry on the UK’s first Social Enterprise Strategy.
Other speakers include Maurice Healy, former President of IBEC and Chairperson of the Social Enterprise Task Force and Paul O’Sullivan, Chief Executive of Clann Credo, the Social Investment Fund
