Invitation to Volunteer Conference: Kerry
THE Kerry branch of the Irish Red Cross will host its first ever conference for volunteers and organisations involved first aid, rescue, safety and emergency voluntary services in the county in Tralee next month.
The conference will take place on Saturday, October 15, from 10am to 5.30pm in the Carlton Hotel.
Individuals or organisations wishing to send a representative to the conference are asked to register their interest.
The conference fee, which includes conference sessions, tea/coffee and three-course lunch is €25 if registered before September 30 and €40 thereafter. Registration forms are available on www.kerryredcross.com
Amongst the speakers on the day will be James Hanlon, Irish Red Cross, Tony Lawlor, National ViceChairman, Irish Red Cross, Bridget Sinnott, BLS Co-ordinator, Irish Heart Foundation, Mary O'Donnell, Employee Assistant Programme Officer, HSE, Dr John Chute, Kerry Area Medical Officer, Irish Red Cross, Dr Jason Carty, Emergency Consultant, Kerry General Hospital, Peter Daly, Chief Emergency Management Officer, HSE South, Inspector Martin McCarthy, Tralee Gardai, Vincent Hussey, Acting Chief Fire Officer, and Charlie Harnett, Area Director of Units, Irish Red Cross Kerry.
A number of organisations will also exhibit on trade stands on the day, including the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council, Decisions for Heroes, SP Services, CISM Network, Fleming Medical Aid Ltd, JBS Group, and Ocean Publishing.
