Donegal County Council and Derry City Council Community Relations are pleased to be working in partnership to offer local community and voluntary groups a free awareness opportunity.  Many groups in both council areas are keen to make cross-border connections – which can also be helpful for Peace funding or other funding opportunities. 

 

The ‘Heads On – Hands On’ 3 day awareness course is designed for groups who wish to make cross-border contacts and build on their awareness of Good Relations.  The ‘Heads On’ day is focused on basic training around introduction to Good Relations and will be facilitated by the Peace and Reconciliation Group (PRG).  This is followed by 2 ‘Hands On’ days which are field trip visits in Derry~Londonderry and Donegal to see local groups with relevance to Good Relations.  Participants should be able to attend all 3 days.

 

The 3 day course will be held as follows:

 

Course: ‘Heads on – Hands On’  (certificate non-accredited) 25 places

Dates:  

Day 1   Thurs 27th Oct  An Grianán Hotel, Burt  10.15am – 4pm  

Day 2   Thurs 10th Nov  Field Trips around Donegal County Council Area

Day 3   Thurs 17th Nov  Field Trips around Derry~Londonderry area.

Transport:       Free transport will be provided on Day 2 & 3 from central points.

                         Transport on day 1 can be provided on request if required.

Cost:                Free (lunch included each day)

Registration:   In advance by registration form (attached).  Max 2 places per organisation.

 

This is part-funded through the District Council’s Community Relations Programme (OFMDFM) and the PEACE III Programme, managed for the Special EU Programmes Body by Donegal County Council.
