Does anyone with charitable status in the education sector but who is not a school/college have information on applying for an exemtion for buildings rates?

As far as I know rates are managed by local councils so you have to deal with them about exemptions. Having a CHY number does not make you exempt from rates.
I just had a look at the Dublin City Council website regarding exemptions or waivers and it looks like there's one for bin charges, but that's about it. I know someone who was talking about negotiating with her local council because she reckoned the rates were going to put her out of business, but I am afraid that is all I know about the subject. Again, I'd recommend talking to DCC.
