Tolka Area Partnership Inviting Grant Applications

The Partnership has secured a small fund through the Local and Community Development Programme (LCDP) to support volunteer led community development actions.

Tolka Area Partnership is now inviting applications from groups working within the TAP area to address issues of poverty and social exclusion for community based projects that will involve members of the LCDP target groups. The groups eligible under this fund include lone parents, people living with disabilities, long-term unemployed, potential early school leavers, offenders, people living with addiction issues, older people, a full list is available on the application form.

In 2011 the grant fund will be split across three areas:

Social Inclusion Grant

The aim of this grant is to promote and support the participation of people living with disabilities into the wider social, cultural and economic life of the community. The grant is open to any group that wishes to promote the participation of people living with disabilities into wider community activities for example sporting or cultural events, employment opportunities etc.

General Grant

This grant is for small scale projects that promote community development type activities at a neighbourhood level and brings people together to build skills and address local issues. Examples include community based arts projects, environmental projects, neighbourhood renewal/estate cleanups etc.

Community Based Education Supports Grant – Finglas RAPID Area will be prioritised

This grant is for small scale community based projects that complement existing education provision and helps a number of families within a neighbourhood to support their children in school for example, community based study groups, family reading groups, learning through play etc.

Deadline for applications is Friday, 23 Sept @ 1pm

The Tolka Area Partnership (formally Finglas Cabra Partnership) was established in 1991. Its remit is to tackle poverty and social exclusion in the Finglas, Cabra, Ashtown/Navan Road and part of the Botanic/Drumcondra areas.

The closing date for receipt of completed application forms is 1.00 PM on Friday, 23 September 2011.
