This workshop represents the first step on the road to the provision of a Data Protection Code of Practice for the Not-For-Profit Sector.

*** This is not a training course and we will not be providing consultancy at these events. We are there to listen to you and gather the requirements for your Code of Practice. ***

The workshop will be delivered in two parts.

The first part will be a high level overview of current Data Protection legislation presented by Lanre Oluwatona and Jim Cregg of the Irish Computer Society

The second part will be your opportunity to voice your concerns and opinions on the impact that Data Protection legislation has on your business. It will also serve as a means of generating a "hit list" of topics that charities are seeking clarification and/or guidance on. So, for example, you might have questions like:
  • Can I save data in the Cloud?
  • What's the best way to handle "Opt In" for direct marketing?
  • What do I do if we have a breach?
This is your chance to have your say so we encourage participation from every charity, big or small.

Date: Thursday, 9 April, 2015

Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm

Venue: Jigsaw Galway, Fairgreen Road, Galway City, Co Galway
