New Charity Auction Website Launched
Owner of Kilkenny web development and online marketing constancy Croan.ie, Francis Nesbitt, has launched a new auction site with a number of charities.
“Cash donations to Irish charities are declining at a time when they are needed most."
The idea is simple: users set up an auction and then sell anything they want from clothes to DVDs to a swimming lesson or a cake they've baked.
When putting something up for auction on Bid2Share.com you can opt to keep part of the proceeds for yourself or you can donate all proceeds to the charity of your choice.
“Cash donations to Irish charities are declining at a time when they are needed most. Charities must recruit and engage with a new kind of donor — one who is younger, tech savvy and socially conscious,” said Nesbitt.
“They have to do this in innovative, cost-effective ways. Philanthropy is becoming a social relationship rather than an economic transaction. With Bid2Share.com hopefully we are making it easier for people to be charitable.”
Lillian McGovern, CEO of the Marie Keating Foundation said: "We are always looking for new and innovative ways of raising much needed funds and Bid2Share.com is an exciting new way for people to support very worthwhile causes while possibly picking up a great bargain."
