Irish Rural Link Conference to Focus on Jobs
Irish Rural Link has announced its Annual Conference to take place on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th May in Castlepollard Co. Westmeath.
The conference will be opened by Minister for Housing and Planning Willie Penrose TD, and will also be addressed by John Perry TD, the Minister of State for Small Business.
The conference is set to examine the role of community in partnership with rural business in combating unemployment an emigration. The conference will address the rising job losses and the impact on rural areas where many businesses are struggling to survive due to the economic downturn and lack of investment in the regions.
According to Seamus Boland, CEO of Irish Rural Link, the conference will bring together innovative personalities to debate the rural agenda and seek solutions to the challenges facing rural communities and businesses. Mr. Boland said that debate on the future of the rural jobs was long overdue and that it is now time to set about revitalising the rural economy.
