Irish Aid Funding for Post Primary Schools

WorldWise Global Schools are now inviting secondary schools, networks and non-governmental schools to apply for funding for development education in post-primary schools.

The aim of the WorldWise Global Schools programme is to contribute, in the longer term, to increased knowledge and understanding of global justice issues and increased engagement and action by students as active global citizens. Teachers and students in participating schools will be supported to integrate a global justice and development dimension though curricular and extracurricular activities.

Project activities may focus on a range of themes, for example; Climate Change, Human Rights, Millennium Development Goals, Woman & Development, Gender Issues, Social Justice/ Inequality, Trade/ Fair Trade, Conflict, Poverty & Diseases, Sustainable Development.

Background

WorldWise Global Schools is an Irish Aid initiative that is being delivered on their behalf by a consortium of three organisations:

  • Self Help Africa 
  • Concern Worldwide
  • City of Dublin VEC Curriculum Development Unit
