An Easy Way to Earn Some Cash for Your Charity
There is an opportunity for charitable organisations to mobilize the network of contacts and volunteers which you have in your database and turn their effort into cash for your organisation. The more people you get involved, the more cash your charity gets!
For each person who signs up each of these roles for a full year, PwC will make a donation of €125 to the charity which has recruited them...
Here’s how it works: since 1997 PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has being carrying out a study for An Post, monitoring the performance of mail collections and deliveries throughout the Republic of Ireland. In order to do this, they have recruited a network of 1,200 people around the country who sign up serve on a panel to receive test mail-shots (these people are called ‘receivers’) and/or to send some of these back again (in which case they are called ‘droppers’). PwC measures the performance of these mail-shots and reports it weekly to An Post.
Here’s how the charity benefits: for every panelist recruited to help them, PwC makes a donation to the charity they name as their preferred charity (or the charity which has recruited them). There are two types of panelist roles:
- A ‘dropper’ will receive 1 package from PwC each week containing two bundles of test mail pieces which the person needs to post within the week.
- A ‘receiver’ can expect to receive up to 8 pieces of test mail per week, (but doesn’t have to post them on).
Both types will be required to record a very small amount of information and return it to PwC in a freepost envelope.
For each person who signs up each of these roles for a full year, PwC will make a donation of €125 to the charity which has recruited them. If a panellist participates as both a ‘dropper’ and ‘receiver’ both at home and in work, for a year, then PwC will make an annual donation of €500 to the charity!
How to Get Involved?
PwC needs to recruit over 300 new panelists to maintain the panel at 1,200 people. If your charity thinks that you can recruit a number of people who would be willing to do this in order to earn your group some money, then contact Damien Kaye, Assistant Manager, Company Administration Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers at Damien.kaye@ie.pwc.com.
