Data Protection Code of Practice for the Not-For-Profit Sector

Following on from recent events regarding the launch of the Data Protection Code, a series of workshops will take place around the country and represents the first step on the road to the provision of a Data Protection Code of Practice for the Not-For-Profit Sector.

Book your place now by please emailing yvonne@fundraisingireland.ie with the venue of your choice.

*** This is not a training course and consultancy wil not be provided at these events. It is a unique opportunity to listen to charities and gather the requirements for a Code of Practice for the sector. ***

The workshop will be delivered in two parts.

The first part will be a high level overview of current Data Protection legislation presented by Lanre Oluwatona and Jim Cregg of the Irish Computer Society

The second part will be your opportunity to voice your concerns and opinions on the impact that Data Protection legislation has on your business. It will also serve as a means of generating a "hit list" of topics that charities are seeking clarification and/or guidance on. So, for example, you might have questions like:

  • Can I save data in the Cloud?
  • What's the best way to handle "Opt In" for direct marketing?
  • What do I do if we have a breach?
This is your chance to have your say so we encourage participation from every charity, big or small.
