Celebrity Auctions for Charity Website Launches
Today sees the launch of an exciting new website, Celeb2nds.com, that aims to help charities raise funds through the sale of celebrity items and experiences. In a nutshell, charities can invite their celebrity supporters to donate items for auction on the website or members of the public can donate their celebrity memorabilia to the site. The website even has a special celebrity area through which conscientious celebs can donate items in person!
Already a number of internationally recognised celebrities – including Duran Duran and Jamie Oliver – have donated items to get the bidding underway and, as Celeb2nds.com is international in scope, there is no reason why the likes of Gerry Ryan and Ray Darcy wouldn’t soon be joining the ranks of generous celebrity givers.
Celeb2nds.com has already been approached by a number of international charities and an international celebrity publisher linked with other major charities, all offering their support and encouragement for this innovative new project. Undoubtedly part of the attraction lies in the fact that Celeb2nds.com donates not just a small percentage of it’s site to good causes – rather it donates the entire proceeds from these celebrity auctions to the relevant charities.
Colin Watts, the former Chairman of the Richard House Children’s Hospice, has commented that “Celeb2nds will revolutionise the way charities raise funds, giving them a new approach for their unsold and new celebrity lots from their celebrity supporter, patrons and ambassadors”.
