CARDI Launches 2nd Round of Grant Programme

The Centre for Ageing Research and Development in Ireland (CARDI) is delighted to open Call 2 of its Collaborative Ageing Research Grant Programme with €300,000 to allocate. The programme is open to community and voluntary organisations.

CARDI is inviting applications for grants to fund cross-border and inter-disciplinary research or to create networks of academics with the public, private and voluntary sectors to examine issues arising out of an ageing society in Ireland, north and south.

"We are delighted to open Call 2 of CARDI’s Collaborative Ageing Research Grant Programme with €300,000 to allocate," said Dr O’Sullivan, director of CARDI.

He continued “We want to encourage ground-breaking studies that bring together different perspectives, sectors and disciplines across the island of Ireland in ways that can help improve the lives of our older people. In Call 2 our research grants have been increased to €25,000 and our network grants will be funded up to a limit of €10,000. It is a precondition that applications must be both cross-border and inter-disciplinary”.

Deadline for applications is: 2 October, 2009.

More information about the grants, terms of reference , including an application form, can be accessed on www.cardi.ie/grantprogramme or email info@cardi.ie
