Better Together Video Competition: Entries Open 16 September

The countdown has begun to the opening of the fourth annual Better Together Video Competition on 16 September. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to elevate your organisation’s public profile, attract new supporters, raise funds and win prizes to boot!

Last year 273,933 people voted for the videos submitted by charities, clubs and associations from across Ireland. That is a lot of potential supporters, volunteers and donors!

But you have to start preparing your entries now…

Community and voluntary groups, clubs and associations are invited to submit their short video clip to www.bettertogether.ie from 16 September. Your video should tell us a story about:

  1. what your organisation does
  2. why it matters to your community
  3. how the public can support your work and
  4. how we can make Ireland Better Together?
It can be a new or existing video, but it must be no longer than two minutes.

From 24 September we'll be inviting the public to start voting for their favourite videos. The top 30 videos will be shortlisted in three categories (Big, Medium and Small/Voluntary) and the winners in each category will receive a prize.

In addition to the prize in each category, you can also use the handy built-in donation function to raise funds through the website. So whatever your weight division, there is no reason that your organisation can't take part...

Not sure where to begin?

Chances are good that you've already started to put your video entry together. To help this process along, however, we've just published the 2013 Better Together Video Making Guide.

Packed with useful tips on how to make your video as engaging and entertaining as possible, as well as essential information on how to edit your project (in Windows Movie Maker Live) and enter it into competition, this free guide will provide you with an excellent grounding in the fine art of making a video that truly rocks!
