Better Together Video Competition opens on Monday, 15 September!

The countdown has begun to the opening of the 2014 Better Together Video Competition on Monday, 15 September at 9am!

The competition is an opportunity for all community and voluntary organisations, clubs and associations across the island of Ireland to:

  • tell their story and raise their public profiles
  • recruit new supporters
  • fundraise
  • win cash prizes

To enter, you have to submit a short video (no longer than two minutes). Your video should ideally show a) what your organisation/group/club does b) why it matters to your community c) how the public can help and d) why you think we are better together. It can be a new or existing video, as long as it is no longer than two minutes.

Upload your video to Youtube or Vimeo and from Monday (15 September) you can enter by completing the entry form at www.bettertogether.ie
 
You can enter in one of the following categories:
 
  • Small Non-Profit Organisations (volunteer only)
  • Medium-sized Non-profit Organisations (with staff and turnover less than €500,000 pa)
  • Large Non-Profit Organisations (with staff and turnover more than €500,000 pa)
  • There are also categories for Businesses and Young Filmmakers.

From 25 September we will be inviting the public to watch your video and to vote for their favourite entries. The 10 videos with the most votes in each category will be shortlisted, and the winners will be announced at the Better Together Awards on 11 December 2014 at Dublin Castle.

Prizes
 
€1,000 cash prize for each of the three winning videos in the Small/Voluntary, Medium and Large Non-profit categories.
 
Young Filmmakers Prize: five days at the Young Irish Film Makers Summer Camp in 2015 OR a full-day filmmaking workshop for a group of up to 15 anywhere in Ireland.
 
Note: the Better Together Business Award is not a cash prize category. The winner of the Better Together Business Award will receive a commemorative award, which will be presented on stage at the Better Together Awards in Dublin on 11 December, along with all other awards.
