Barnardos 'Helping Hands' Young Volunteers Awards 2012

barnardos logoDo you know a young person whose volunteer work has helped paint a brighter future in your community? Or are you a young person who has had a very positive and rewarding volunteer experience?

If so, you are invited to submit a nomination for the Helping Hands Young Volunteer Awards, 2012.

Aim of the Awards

The aim of the Award is to promote the spirit of volunteering by encouraging and supportingy oung peoples involvement in volunteer activities.

Who can enter?

Anyone who is under 25 years of age on 31 December 2012 can be nominated. You can either nominate yourself or nominate another person whose volunteer work has made an impact on you or others.

Examples of Volunteering

  • Environment and conservation projects
  • Fundraising
  • Helping in the local community
  • Working with disadvantaged groups
  • Helping in youth groups,
  • Mentoring programmes
  • Volunteering overseas. 

The list is endless… 

It can be any activity that involves giving freely of personal time to help others and that contributes to creating a healthy society to live in. We want to hear your stories of your own ‘Helping Hands’ experience of volunteer work - or if nominating someone else how the nominees ‘Helping Hands’ made a difference to you or to others.

What can you win?

The deadline for nominations is 29 February 2012.

Taking place at our annual Volunteer Ceremony, the lucky winner will be presented with a Barnardos Helping Hands Award for their contribution to their community. The winning entry will also receive a personal computer, kindly donated by our Awards sponsor, Softech.
 
The Awards lunch this year will take place on Thursday, 15 March, Davenport
Hotel, Lower Merrion St, Dublin 2.
