€70 Million Finance Fund Available to Clubs and Local Projects

UCIT – a Community organisation, providing loan finance to other communities across Ireland - in association with The Local Enterprise Office Rathdown - Dun Laoghaire is hosting a FREE information session entitled “How to Access Social Finance (A Step by Step Guide for Voluntary Groups)”.

The event will cover all the basic elements of what an investor looks for when assessing funding applications. The session is low on jargon and assumes your group may never have had to access repayable finance before.

It will take place in The Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire on Wednesday, 22 April 2015 at 7.30pm.

Over 15 years, UCIT has loaned over €50 million to groups in every province on the island and has €70m more to lend via a Social Finance Fund. (www.ucitltd.com / www.sff.ie )

Here’s a local example of a group which has already accessed this fund:

"We had a specific project that was hugely important for our organisation going forward. Without the assistance of UCIT we could not have completed this project within our tight deadline. The process was simple and all questions were quickly answered in a professional manner to help us with our application." - Eva Gurn, Corporate Operations Manager, Boardmatch Ireland Ltd.

If your group could do without needing to borrow, it would! However, despite fewer grants, and restricted access to bank finance, there remains the need to improve or develop community infrastructure.
