8. Membership Category

Your membership rate is determined by your membership category and your organisation's annual income band (i.e. the total income received by your organisation in one year, including all sources of statutory and other funding, earned income, etc.)

Full Members

Full members are community and voluntary organisations.

All organisations which apply to become a Full Member of The Wheel have to be independently governed. This is defined as being where the board is independent (usually indicated by the fact that less than 50% of Board members are appointed by a government, statutory or other body) and that the organisation has the ability to be self-directional in terms of deciding its own mission and vision, and even ultimately that it can make the decision to cease operations.

Associate Members

Associate members are: statutory agencies; government agencies; state departments; academic institutions; commercial organisations; other non profit organisations whose boards are not independent.

Individual Membership

Individual member - Individuals who are interested in or working for the community and voluntary sector in Ireland but not affiliated with a particular organisation can join as Individual members.

Fundingpoint

Fundingpoint is a service run by The Wheel to provide an online funding information source for the Irish community and voluntary sector. Subscribers to Fundingpoint have access to over 730 funding schemes open to Irish organisations.

Members of The Wheel can purchase an annual subscription to Fundingpoint at a substantially reduced rate. For further information see the funding section of this site.

Data Protection

Data Protection: In compliance with data protection legislation, any individual will be given a copy of their personal data when requested. You can choose to unsubscribe at any stage from any of our information services by emailing info@wheel.ie or by contacting The Wheel.
