Job Purpose

An important role within the Fundraising department, the Fundraising Officer will help to implement and drive growth of fundraising activities (including national community events) run by GOAL. The Officer will support the growth and development of at least four national fundraising campaigns. The individual will also manage local GOAL events across Ireland which will help drive public fundraising growth in Ireland over the next five years. They will also support GOAL’s corporate strategy and other Fundraising initiatives.

Main Duties

Delivery of income targets through

  • Strong execution and delivery of National events
    • Drive participation from individuals, corporates and schools in GOAL’s National Fundraising campaigns including but not limited to GOAL MILE, GOAL JERSEY DAY and the GOAL BALL.
    • Take the lead in managing the GOAL Ball and Ladies Lunch and to developing implement one new fundraising event for 2018. Develop strategies to drive participant levels from all target audiences
    • Present, clear and reliable management information that will help refine GOAL’s national campaigns strategy.
    • Liaise with the National Campaigns Manager to maximise campaign and event sponsorship opportunities.
  • Corporates
    • Support Implementation of Corporate Strategy
  • Management & execution
    • Ensure the delivery of events on time and within budget
    • Management of corporate communication strategy
    • Ensure GOAL brand is enhanced through the quality of the events for participants
  • Monitoring & Evaluation
    • Ensure delivery of robust reporting to ensure KPI’s are being reached
    • Review and analyse previous GOAL fundraising efforts to ensure continuous improvement
    • Oversee events expenditures to ensure highest ROI
    • Provide market insight and competitive analysis to inform the GOAL strategy
    • Identify market opportunities for GOAL to test
  • Other Duties
    • To provide support and assistance to the Head of Fundraising and the Fundraising team as required

Person Specification


  • Demonstrated experience in Fundraising through various initiatives
  • Experience in a sales environment and ability to achieve targets
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Demonstrated experience working within team


  • NGO event management experience
  • Knowledge of the charity sector/international development sector an advantage
  • Experience with business development

Our package includes a competitive salary, 22 days annual leave and the possibility to join our Health care scheme. Additional benefits are available after 12 months of service.The salary range for this position is €28,000- 32,000. Candidates must be entitled to work in Ireland at the time of application.
