Job Purpose

This is an extremely exciting role within one of Ireland’s largest International NGOs. As GOAL’s Web Developer, you’ll develop websites and applications that are essential to raising funds for our work in the developing world, while also ensuring that global humanitarian issues are communicated to an Irish, UK and US audience.

This role requires a hardworking individual who demands excellence and is passionate about making a difference. The individual must be highly motivated and passionate about coding and technology.

Main Duties

  • You’ll be responsible for the development and maintenance for all GOAL websites
  • You’ll create innovative fundraising and storytelling solutions that push the boundaries within our sector
  • You’ll provide support to the digital team with analytics, tracking codes and other ad-hoc projects
  • You’ll work in a collaborative environment and liaise with various departments to generate world-class web content

Person Specification

  • Excellent HTML, CSS (Sass or Less a bonus), JavaScript and PHP skills
  • Highly proficient in working with Expression Engine and WordPress CMS platforms
  • Experience with version control using GitHub
  • Experience with responsive frameworks
  • Understanding of best UX practices - ability to partake in wireframing process
  • Building and maintaining a library of reusable code for future use
  • Ensuring the technical feasibility of new designs
  • Understanding of all major browsers and the special considerations each requires
  • Writing excellent HTML email templates, adapted for various browsers
  • Writes clean, readable code
  • Can quickly adapt and learn new technologies
  • Experience working with Sketch App, InVision, Zeplin design to development workflow
  • Experience in integrating payment services such as Stripe and PayPal
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organisational units.
  • Knowledge or hands on design experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc ..) is needed to be successful in this position.
  • Strong grasp of security and data protection principles and how they apply to E-Commerce applications.
  • Applicable knowledge of and integration experience with CRM systems such as Microsoft Dynamics an advantage

Our package includes a competitive salary, 22 days annual leave and the possibility to join our Health care scheme. Additional benefits are available after 12 months of service. Salary range for this role is € 35,000 to 40,000. Candidates must be entitled to work in Ireland at the time of application.
