The Carmelite Community Centre is located on Aungier Street in the heart of Dublin City. It provides meeting space and activities for a large variety of local groups and visitors and is a very central part of life for the people of Dublin 2 and 8.

The key responsabilities of the caretaking assistant are:

  • Opening of premise each day - early shift
  • Locking up and securing building each night - late shift
  • Assisting customers using the car park including the ticket machine
  • Welcoming guests to the centre
  • Assisting reception staff
  • Answering phone in absence of reception staff
  • Checking that all electrical appliances and lights are turned off each night
  • Ensuring that all guests leave the building each night prior to locking up.
  • Opening and locking the car park gates

Skills needed for caretaking:

  • Good communication skill and pleasent manner
  • Ability to work with team or on your own.
  • Attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn
  • Fluent English

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those over 21 years of age and over. Applicants must also be in receipt of an Irish social welfare payment for 1 year or more.
