My Legacy Campaign

My Legacy is the first consortium of charities that have come together to encourage people to leave a donation to their favourite charitable organisation in their will. Making a charitable bequest is not something that only wealthy people can do. Through our work, My Legacy aims to educate and inform people from all walks of life on how they can make a real difference to the causes they care about.

History
My Legacy was established in 2003 by a small group of charities that wished to spread the word about charitable bequests. Since then My Legacy has grown and now represent nearly 40 leading Irish charities and not-for-profit organisations.

How does it work?
By pooling resources and skills, My Legacy aims to achieve more than it would by working individually – and, importantly, to save money! The consortium is democratically run and is governed by a steering group made up of fundraising professionals from the member organisations.

What does My Legacy do?
My Legacy provides unbiased, useful information to individuals, charities and solicitors about leaving bequests to charities. My Legacy works to promote legacy giving and give donors, solicitors and charities the information they need to make it happen. My Legacy does not solicit specific gifts or bequests for individual organisations.
