The Race to St. Andrews - Holmpatrick Cup 2012

We will again be running the Holmpatrick Cup in 2012 and hope that your club
will enter this event in the 80th year of this oldest of golf competitions.

The 2012 competition will have the same format as last year. The first step
is to enter your club, which can be done by completing the attached entry
form. I am very conscious of the demands on your club’s golf calendar so
you can either organise a special competition or run it in conjunction with
an existing club fourball competition.  The competition must be completed by
30th June 2012.

Format:
•       Club winners go forward to their county final – completed by 31st July
•       County winners compete for provincial honours – completed by 28th
September
•       The four provincial qualifiers then compete for the Holmpatrick Cup in
the All Ireland Final 36 hole on the New and Old courses at St Andrews in
October 2012.

I’m sure you will be pleased to hear that the entry fee per person will
remain at €5.00.  The All Ireland Final will include:
       * 2 Night/3 Day All Expenses Paid Trip of a Life Time to St. Andrews
       * 2 rounds of golf (Old & New Course)
       * Staying at the world famous Old Course Hotel

As recognition of the work the Competition Secretary perform for your club
throughout the year and in particular their valued contribution in making the
Holmpatrick Cup the success it is, we will once again hold a draw were each
Competition Secretary (who runs a club qualifier), will be entered into the
hat to win a fantastic all expenses paid trip to The Final in St. Andrews in
October 2012. We will pick 4 Competition Secretary (one from each province).
