22q11ireland support group

22q11 ireland was set up to support families and individuals affected by a rare chromosome disorder, 22q11.2 deletion also known as DiGeorge syndrome/VCFS. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life of the affected individuals and families and to raise public and professional awareness of this little known condition. Although little is known about 22q11.2 in Ireland the deletion is now recognised as one of the most prevalent causes of birth defects including such problems as congenital heart defects and dleft palate, as well as a significant cause of speech and language delays, feeding difficulties and learning differences.

We seek to support and advise indiciduals and families affected by 22q11.2 deletion and to raise awareeness of this condition in to education, medical, social and state bodies.
