- Navigate to the web page you wish to bookmark.
- Go to the menus at the top of the screen and choose "Favorites"
- Choose "Add to favorites"
- and you're done. To access that page again, simply return to the Favorites menu and select your page of choice.
Firefox
- Navigate to the web page you wish to bookmark.
- Go to the menus at the top of the screen and choose "Bookmarks"
- Choose "Bookmark this page"
- and you're done. To access that page again, simply return to the Bookmarks menu and select your page of choice.
Firefox also has a neat toolbar which you can turn on by going to the menus at the top of the screen and choosing View/Toolbars/Bookmarks Toolbar. This will give you buttons for your favourite sites rather than using a menu. To add a site to the toolbar:
- Once again, navigate to the web page you wish to bookmark
- In the address bar, i.e. the white box with the address of the site in it, e.g. http://www.ictpoint.ie there is a little icon just to the left of the "http://". This is known as a favicon, or favourites icon.
- You can click on this with your mouse and drag it to the "Bookmarks toolbar", where it will settle for future use.
Internet Explorer 7
Like IE6, you can set a page as a favourite using the Favourites menu as follows:
- Navigate to the web page you wish to bookmark.
- Go to the menus at the top of the screen and choose "Favorites"
- Choose "Add to favorites"
- and you're done. To access that page again, simply return to the Favorites menu and select your page of choice.
IE7 also provides two handy buttons, which look like stars. One provides the "add to favorites" function. The second opens your "Favorites centre", which simply lists all pages bookmarked to date.
