Budget Effects On the Most Vulnerable Highlighted
The Irish Times reports on some of the criticisms that charities are continuingin to make about the Budget.
Fr. Sean Healy, of Social Justice Ireland said that the claim by Minister of Finance, Brian Lenihan, that the Budget was progressive and had distributed the burden fairly is "patently untrue" and that the Budget was "unjust, unfair and inequitable".
The Children's Rights Alliance similarly took the Government to task over the cuts in child benefit cuts, calling them a "blunt instrument" that would have a negative impact.
